Being in the present moment is about being alert. It’s about being free to express, to create, to simply being engaged with self and others .

This month, we reflect on the energy of the Tarot Card Seven of Wands.

Wands, as a suit, represent the element of fire — divine fire. That fire speaks to our highest aspirations, our deepest passions, the essence of what drives us before those desires even formulate into thoughts, ideas, or actions.

The Seven of Wands is a card about standing up. Standing up to opposition. Standing up with clarity and integrity. It’s about self-respect — honoring your passions, your values, and the position you are here to hold. (Tarot Quest begins 9/8)

It doesn’t mean fighting or resisting oppositions. It’s not about conflict for the sake of conflict. It’s about knowing where you stand and being willing to stand there, even when met with challenge.

July asks us to walk our talk.

This card is a firm, affirmative signal that alignment and integrity are necessary now more than ever. There may be resistance. But if you know yourself, really know yourself, resistance or harshness would be met by coolness and calm observation.

And that raises a deeper question:

How well do we know ourselves?

To know ourselves, we need some kind of clearing, a practice of creating neutrality and acceptance. A space where we notice our true intentions and convictions.

Are we responding from truth, or are we just reacting to circumstances?

We are here, each of us, for a very short time. And each of us has a job to do — something to express, to contribute, to live for.

But the noise out there — in our communities, politics, culture, and media — is loud. Too often, our true voice gets lost in the reactive loop. We get pulled out of center and forget what we’re really about.

So... this month, we come back to center, We welcome back our fire. We stand in the clarity of who we are — not in opposition to others, but in devotion to truth, in our bodies, mind and spirit.
